Who is Creating Companions?
Madalyn Blayze IACP-CDT, CYNX-L
Owner | Trainer
Where I grew up it was the norm to take your dog everywhere with you. Dogs were well rounded; they were socialized, friendly with children, always off leash, helpful, and listened to commands.
From a young age I had an interest in training dogs. I remember the first dog training book that I bought from a book fair in elementary school (I actually still own it). By thirteen, I started working with waterfowl retrievers, from there I moved into the city and started training service dogs for veterans, learning about behavioral rehabilitation, and dabbling in dog sports. I was later offered a job outside of Saint Louis to be the training manager of a wonderful dog training company. Now, I am a business owner that strives to help owners that are interested in achieving my motto of being able have well rounded, stable minded dog’s that can go anywhere with you!
My Mission
Is to create confident, capable companions for those who want more from their canine
so that
we as a society can change the way we live with our canine companions.
I am a professional member of the International Association of Canine Professionals and an American Kennel Club Evaluator
I believe every trainer should have their methods observed and critiqued by peers. This is why I continue to improve my education through annual eduacational conferences, certifications, and seminars. Certifications can help create an understanding of a trainers knowledge, experience, and training methodology. Below are some of my certifications:
Cynopraxic/LIMA Trainer (CYNX-L)
This certification was recieved by studying under Steven Lindsay, the trainer who founded the popular “Least Intrusive, Minimally Invasive” terminology that many certifying organizations derive their educational material from. Awarded by the IACP.
Certified Dog Trainer (CDT)
Only appilicants with a minimum of four years experience as a professional trainer can be considered for this peer reviewed, case study based assessment of knowledge, client comprehension, and methods. Awarded by the IACP.
Canine Good Citizen Evaluator
This certification allows a trainer to test a dogs basic socialability and command comprehension under the American Kennel Club after the trainer recieves a passing grade on a knowledge assessment. Awarded by the AKC.
